HISTORY OF SCIENCE FICTION:
We discussed yesterday’s assessment, which students replied back to my comments and received five points. Next, we discussed several major themes of science fiction:
- Man vs Fate
- Man vs Supernatural
- Man vs Machine (technology)
- Man vs Man
- Man vs Society
From the themes we made connections to the thematic statements below.
We continued using scale strips to measure distances and practiced this activity up on the board on a projected map. We will completed activity tomorrow before moving to our map assessment.
WASHINGTON STATE HISTORY:
Complete, discuss the Ice Age assignment and the Ice Age’s influence on Washington state. The assignment (see 10.6.14) is to be stapled to the following self-assessment:
- Of the thirteen self-reflections throughout chapter one, how many have I completed?
- Looking at the completed reflections, what skills am I demonstrating that show my progress towards the learning targets in chapter one?
- What skills could I focus on in chapter two that will help me progress towards understanding the learning targets?
