Student Talk: What is implied when something is called ‘the straw that broke the camel’s back’?

Review together your flow charts for 5.3, 5.4, 5.5, 5.6. How many events have contributed to the build up of colonial anger?

Read together 5.7 & 5.8 and work together to identify the straw that broke the camel’s back.

• Describe the situation in 5.7 & 5.8.

• Who or what is the straw, the camel, and what exactly happened when the camel’s back broke?

Use Intolerable Acts, Colonial Militias, Continental Congress, Lexington and Concord as part of your evidence.

Add these events to your flowchart.
